My New Book is Now Available!!!!
Well, this is the week the book is officially released. By the time you read this, it will be live on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and a few other online booksellers.
This past weekend, I participated in an Ask Me Anything event happening on Reddit. It was an interesting experience and was nice meeting new people.

You Don’t Have to Be An Angry, Resentful Person Just Because Everyone Else Is I don’t think this entry needs a trigger warning in the traditional sense, but perhaps a “take offense” warning is necessary. I’m not attacking or critiquing any specific individual with this entry, although if you take offense, maybe you should stop for a second and figure out why. Click Here
Recovery Wouldn’t Have Been the Same Without My Dogs We’re having our first measurable snowfall of the year and as I look out of the windows of the office that doubles as my bedroom, I can see our three dogs playing outside, reminding me of how I used to play with my brother or other neighborhood kids on a snow day when we were little. The Book Made It to Number One! I sold a few books over the weekend, although not as many as I had hoped. That’s OK. There’s still plenty to do in promotion and I feel good about getting the word out there. This is going to be a multi-month push to get into the right hands and the longer it lives on Amazon, the more likely it is to be discovered without any work on my part. Click Here
Guest Blog: Four Reasons Why Women Are Not Sex Objects According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of objectifying is as follows: “to treat someone as an object rather than as a person.” Now think for a moment if people started looking, referring and treating you like an object. How do you believe you would feel? Insulted? Demeaned? Dishonored? Befouled? Humiliated? Tarnish? Click Here
Think Addiction and Bipolar Disorder aren’t Connected? Think Again. Quite often when I’m doing interviews, I’m asked about the connection between my bipolar disorder and my alcoholism and pornography addiction. I’ve always felt like there was some link between the two, but I finally did a little research to confirm it. As it turns out, there’s a huge link. Click Here

12/4 – The Good Intentions Show For those who prefer video podcasts, this was a great one with Tim Ray, who’s an absolute fantastic interviewer. This is my second time talking to him and it’s always a great conversation. Click Here
12/3 – The Drunkalogues Because my focus is pornography addiction, the fact I was co-addicted to alcohol often flies under the radar. In this interview, we talk about how the two addictions worked in tandem. Click Here
12/2 – From Betrayal to Breakthrough Dr. Debi Silber and I spend a fair amount of time in this 33-minute interview talking about how we can keep kids away from pornography. It’s quite unlike most of my podcast appearances. Click Here
12/1 – My Wakeup Call Host Dr. Mark Goulston has sold over 500,000 books in his career and is more accomplished than I could ever hope to be. This 45-minute podcast is one of the most interesting discussions I’ve had. Click Here
Offering Peer Support Counseling

Thanks! Fingers crossed people buy it and it’s not just a curiosity they walk by, like a Vanilla Ice movie.

Vanilla Ice has a movie?! haha
I don’t think sales are as important as you having the courage of sharing all of this. But of course, I wish that everything works out!

And you’re absolutely right. I’d just like to see all of that time I wasn’t chasing paying writing gigs to amount to something more than 8 sales.

Thank you for being open about this relevant subject! I, along with my other pastors, was never taught how to address this matter in seminary. Despite the neglect, God showed me how to extend grace to those with this struggle and help restore them to the path God has for them. Someone must speak up, and those who hear must not play the Pharisee.

Hey Joshua, I left you a review on Amazon. Thank you so much again for being a guest on the Addictions Podcast. I plan on airing the episode on February 12th, so stay tuned for that!

I heard you on a podcast and bought your book exactly four months ago now. I finally got through the book (I’m a slow reader but also thought it wise to chew on your story daily.) You may have saved my life. I took your advice and have filed this as a cautionary tale. Read, filed, and there to read again. Many positive actions have been taken in that time span. More to come. Sleep – I must add – has proven to be my biggest ally for positive change in my life over these past few weeks over which the most change has occurred for me.

You are so welcome. As I read this reply from you to my post, I feel connected to you as not just a writer of a book but as a real person. It brings up emotions of both sadness and joy – for your hardships and your ultimate successes. I am sure much of that emotion is mine as I consider my struggles and several times when I thought my actions were about to bring my whole world down. I have had so many chances to turn it around and I feel that this will be the time when it may actually happen. Thank you again, Mr. Shea.

Thanks for the follow and congratulations on the book! By any chance, were you following me before under a similar but different name?
My husband also had a 30-year porn addiction that he hid from me. When he brought it into the light and worked to overcome it, it completely changed our marriage for the better. I never doubt that porn addiction is real and I’m glad you’re talking and writing about it.
